Malawi Girl Guides Association is a voluntary, non-political and self-governing organization for girls and young women (3-39 years) committed to offering them opportunities to develop good character and become responsible and useful citizens of Malawi. MAGGA is looking for a well-qualified person to fill the position of Project Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities
|
|
- Elaborate and formulate corresponding topics to Sexual and Reproductive Health with
emphasis on maternal health, pregnancy prevention, family planning, HIV/AIDS.
- In liaison with the programmes coordinator, prepare project workplans, associated detailed budgets and ensure there is general effective management for all Sexual and Reproductive Health Programs, including HIV.
- Closely follow implementation of the workplans and budgets and suggest or take necessary actions to ensure smooth implementation.
- Collaborate with the establishment and maintenance of good cooperation levels with government entities, implementing partners, UN agencies, and other entities related to the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program.
- Provide technical assistance to program staff to generate evidence on the issues of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program.
- Contribute to the application of MAGGA policies and procedures in the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program; identify and suggest actions to strengthen implementation.
- Maintain a close relationship with key stakeholders (state and non-state) and ensure adequate information flow, strictly following rules and policies of MAGGA.
- Organize and facilitate stakeholder consultations, trainings and programme/project review meetings as required.
- Ensure that all Sexual and Reproductive Health Programs are being done according to the established work plan, timeline, content, proper use of funds and expected results.
- Identify deviations, risks, and other aspects that could affect the objectives on the Sexual and Reproductive Health program, and suggest corrective actions.
- Administrate in an effective manner, the assigned resources for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program.
- Keep the National Coordinator and Programmes Coordinator updated on deviations, closures and other aspects of the projects in the Sexual Reproductive Health Program.
- Document periodically reports on the relevant activities developed as part of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program, and perform analysis to be presented and discussed with the National Coordinator and other programmes staff.
- Help create and document knowledge about current and emerging trends and issues by analyzing strategies, approaches and ongoing experience for lessons learned, best practices, and share with management for use in knowledge sharing and planning future strategies.
- Supervise and offer managing support to district coordinators and field officers involved in the Sexual and Reproductive Health program.

- Knowledge of MAGGA program themes.

- Knowledge and ability in the use of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Power Point).

- Experience and knowledge in advocacy with Government and civil society decision makers.
- Knowledge and ability in the use of resource mobilization tools.

Required Skills and Experience
|
Education:
University Degree-Bachelor of science in midwifery, social sciences, public health or other related fields.
Knowledge and Experience:
- At least five years of field-based programme management experience is required in the field of development activities, preferably in programme/project management.
- Working experience in the fields of sexual and reproductive health and rights is required.
- Working experience in the fields of adolescent girls and young women /youth and/or gender is highly desirable.
- Working experience in data collection/analysis, as well as monitoring and evaluation is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and managerial skills required. Self-starter, proactive, team player and passionate about AGYW interventions.
