Today , the EVAWG team is orienting community leaders and school authorities from Dzoole-B ADC in Dowa District on “Making our Communities Safe” manual.
The session serves to boost community ownership and commitment towards actions against GBV as a pathway to creating safe communities for children, girls and women.
Using the mentioned manual session, the participants are equipped with knowledge and skills on identification’ reporting and referrals of GBV cases in an effort to create violence free environment in their communities. The participants are then, asked to develop a community action work plan for handling the identified issues and making the unsafe places safe, within a specified period of time.
The activities are part of the EVAWG project initiatives that MAGGA is implementing in Dowa, that aims at enhancing gender equality and women empowerment, with funding from NORAD through Norwegian Church Aid Malawi and Danish Church Aid, under the Joint Country Program.
