As one way of enhancing access to comprehensive sexuality education and modern family planning, STI screening and management, HIV testing and counselling amongst adolescent boys and girls, Malawi Girl Guides Association conducted youth friendly health services outreach clinics in 8 primary schools from different education zones within Dowa district.
During the activity boys and girls were tested for HIV, screened for STIs and they also received information about HIV/AIDS. In order to ensure that the activity objectives were achieved, MAGGA collaborated with Dowa district hospital and some health facilities within the district. Further MAGGA also involved with Child protection workers from a particular area where the outreach was being held, Child Protection Workers (CPWs) were responsible for facilitating about gender-based violence hence boys and girls should also be conversant with gender based-violence.
