Shamimu Senga, of Mtanda School in Mtanda, said he once used Marijuana be- cause his friends told him that he would become more intelligent and wiser after taking it.
[But when I smoked] what was happening was not good at all: I behaved as if I had been bewitched and was insane. I could pluck leaves from trees and do a wedding ceremony on my own and eat the leaves that I plucked.
“At home, when they cooked nsima for me, even if it was a full plate I would say no, ‘the nsima is not enough, and I won’t be full’ and indeed after taking the nsima, I could still feel empty.”
Shamimu said he stopped smoking after counselling.
“I was counselled that Marijuana is not good for my health.”
She narrated what business at MAGGA is like.
“At MAGGA, we knit and learn different things including life skills. We also counsel our friends on the evilness of Marijuana. We do this when we meet. That is every Thursday at 3 pm.”
