From the traditional authority Kachindamoto in dedza hails Mercy Black.  At 30, one would think their future is over and have to resign from life. Not for mercy, after spending 8 years in Marriage and 3 kids, she decided to go back to school. She attends an open day school at Mtakataka secondary school.

Mercy was motivated by her brothers one at chancellor college and another at Machinga Teachers training College. She  recalls her husband used to insult and abuse her during their marriage. She was always unhappy. Her idea of a happy marriage was a fantasy.    Though a little older that her peers in her class, Mercy is bound to  finishing her education and she won’t look back. She is a mentee and is benefiting from the life skills program MAGGA is implementing at her school. 

‘ I now know the importance of family planning and am able to access services’, I am also open to my children and I will raise them well, we discuss several issues , the things I was not open to talk openly’  Said Mercy.

Mercy saw the importance of education and decided to go back to school voluntary and abandon an abusive marriage.
